October is typically the most anticipating event in Singapore for fashion week. Local designers, fashionistas and models feel the excitement in a different way. They will experience the non-stop flurry of overwhelming pressure and excitement for the ongoing preparation. The event will happen this October 26-30, 2016.

Fashion enthusiasts are hooked on which lineups of models and designers that will be in the spotlight. Fashion designers and models are preparing themselves for the said events that carefully collaborated in engaging finest fringe activities as early as June.

International Designer’s Focal Point

Asians are evolving to the rising global change in the fashion industry for which Singapore aims not to get left behind. Some international designers plan to join the prestigious fashion week. One of the opening highlights of the show is Gou Pei‘s Haute Couture, the known and most talented artist who gained international respect after she dressed up the international pop star Rihanna at the 2015 Met Gala Ball in a stunning Canary Yellow gown.

As local designers taking a huge part in the event, they will have the opportunity to be recognised in the international fashion industry as they make a wave in the spotlight. This fashion week is going to be their first international debut in Asia. Another renowned designer invited to the show is the New-York based American fashion designer Naeem Khan who dressed up First Lady Michelle Obama with an iconic embroidered yellow dress.

Born in Malaysia, another famous fashion designer expected in the event is Han Chong who is currently London based. Han Chong gained popularity from her contemporary womenswear with embroidery sheer lace and overlays design. His previous and regular clientele are very well known celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Miranda Kerr and Reece Witherspoon.

There will be emerging artists from Harper’s BAZAAR Asia, specifically from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand where eight are expected to compete for the first spot for the most prestigious Singapore fashion week.
